Instructions:

1.      Take the picture frame apart and measure the opening in the back because it will be different than and 8½ x 11”. Cut the vellum and the Smoky Plum cardstock to this size.  Layer the two pieces of paper on top of each other putting the Vellum on top. Set aside.

2.      Layer the Poem, green paper, gold paper and the pansy paper. All sizes are listed in the supply section. Glue each together starting with the poem and ending with the pansy cardstock. See photo. Set aside to dry.

3.      Stamp the Pansies with the Black StazOn ink two times on the white cardstock. Use embossing gun to heat set. Use the markers to color one of the stamped images. Use the Smoky Plum marker for the pansies and Hydrangea marker for the highlights. Color the faces of the pansies with the two yellow markers and add gold highlights. See photo.  Cut out whole stamped image then cut colored image in half long-ways using the Fiskars cutter.  The two halves will be used to lie on either side of the layered poem.

4.      Cut out the small word PANSY and Violanceae into a small square and layer onto a small piece of the gold cardstock. See photo for sizing and placement.

5.      Obtain dried flowers at your local craft store or dry them yourself as I have.  Flowers can be dried in the pages of old books or use a microwave flower drier to retain most color. Chose live flowers with the most colors because the colors will soften once they dry. See photo for placement of dried flowers.

6.      Using the other stamped image of the pansies color in some of the leaves and the buds. These are to be cut out and placed next to the dried flowers as if they were growing together.

7.      Lay the ribbon on the vellum cardstock slightly off center allowing tail to overlap the vellum. Next lay the fibers along the ribbon from top to bottom also overlapping. This will allow the ribbon to be held in place by the back of the frame.  Use small amounts of the Crystal Lacquer to anchor the ribbon and fibers to the vellum.  Tie a bow of assorted fibers.  Lay aside.

8.      Center the poem over the ribbon and fibers close to the top. Use the Crystal Lacquer to anchor in place. Glue the colored images of the Pansies next to the poem so that they appear to be behind the poem.

9.      Place the bow tied with fibers along the ribbon and fibers under the poem and glue in place.

10.  Glue the dried flowers in place using the Crystal Lacquer by gently holding them in place and pressing on the middle of the flowers. Place glue only in the middle of the back of the flowers otherwise it will show through when dried. Also, glue the cut out leaves and buds under the flowers.

11.  Add the two small gold bows one on the fiber bow and the other on the gold cardstock under the words.  See photo for placement.

12.  Clean the glass of the frame on each side being careful not to leave fingerprints.  Lay frame upside down on table and put the glass in place.  Next lay the vellum and plum cardstock on the glass.  Check to make sure that the flowers and poem are in the correct position. Refer to photo. Add the back portion of the frame and anchor into place.
