Instructions
:

Designer Tip: Work with microbeads over a coffee filter.  It makes putting the beads back in the little container much easier.

1.   Cut two 4 ½” x 8 5/8” pieces of the solid paper and two 3 3/8” x 7 7/8” of the coordinating print.   Set aside.  Stamp and heat emboss three flowers with the Versafine Black Onyx ink and clear powder on the remaining printed paper.  Cut out the images, add Crystal Stickles Glitter Glue to the center of each, and sprinkle on the microbeads. Lightly tap the beads into the glue so they hold better and set the flowers aside to dry.

2.    Center one of the chipboard pieces at the top edge (back side up) of the solid paper and score along the three edges with the bone folder.  This will help with turning the edges as you wrap the paper around the chipboard.  Trim the bottom corners diagonally.   Attach with double stick tape along the three edges carefully wrapping the paper over the edge of the chipboard.  Repeat for the second piece of chipboard.

3.    Cover the inside of both chipboards with the pieces of the coordinating print, again centering at the top edge.  For the spine, lay the 4” scrap piece face down.  Adhere the double stick tape to the long edges of the strip.  Leaving an approximate ½” gap between the top edges of the chipboard pieces.  Center and attach them to the spine.  Turn the edges in on the side.  Cover the remaining space with the second piece.   Lay the memo pad in the cover to make sure the fit is good.  This would be a good time to carefully remove the magnet strip from the back to be used later.

4.    Make a stencil by punching a square from the scrap cardstock.  Decide where you want your blocks of color on the front cover. Using the Brilliance pad DTP (Direct to Paper approach), pull the color from the outside into the center of the stencil square until you get the shade you want.  Without removing the stencil, stamp over the block of color you just made using the texture cube and Coal Black ink.  Do this three to four times on the cover and then randomly stamp the solid flower image with the same Brilliance ink.

5.    With the Crystal Stickles Glitter Glue, write the word ‘Notes’ at the top of the front cover and add microbeads.  Again, lightly tap the beads into the glue.  Also, you can ‘shape’ the letters at this point.  When the flower centers are dry, glue them to the front of the cover.  I used a thin bead of paper adhesive around the petal edges.

6.   When the microbeads and glue have dried, attach the magnet strip to the back of the cover with double stick tape right below the spine edge.   Use the same tape to attach the memo pad to the inside.  Your Memo Book is now ready to be positioned on the freezer door with a firm hold!  You could, also, make a matching pen covered in microbeads.  Just wrap it with ‘red liner’ super tacky tape and roll it in the beads.  I would still add some of the Crystal Stickles Glitter Glue for good measure.  It holds the beads in place extremely well.
