1-5 1/2” x 4 1/4” Brilliant Blue base card stock
1-1” x 4 1/4” Real Red card stock
1-9” x 2 1/4” Sunshine Yellow card stock for the pull strip
4-2 1/4” x 2 1/4” Sunshine Yellow, Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Glorious Green card stock
4-2” x 2” White card stock for the stamped images
2 -White brads/eyelets (Memory Makers)
Paper cutter (Carl)
Bone Folder (Ranger)
Mono Adhesive (Tombow)
6” Ribbon/fiber for the pull
1/8” hole punch for the ribbon/fiber (and eyelets, if using that size) (McGill)
1/16” hole punch for the brads (McGill)

Instructions:

1. Adhere the 5 1/4” x 4” piece of pattern paper to the 5 1/2” x 4 1/4” blue base.

2. Take the 1” x 4 1/4” red strip and lay it horizontal on the card base. Align the bottom edge of the strip at 1 1/2” up from the bottom of the card base. Punch a hole on each side of the strip about 1/2” in from the edge. Insert a brad/eyelet into the hole to secure the strip (see Illus. 1 for these first two steps).

3. Take the 9” x 2 1/4” strip and score at 1 1/2”, 2 1/4”, 3”, and 3 3/4” intervals. Be sure to crease these folds with a bone folder before going on to the next step (see Illus. 2).

4. You now have a strip that is about half with score lines and half without. Adhere the end of the strip with the score line to the red horizontal piece that you just secured with the brads/eyelets. This piece will be extend beyond the card base (see. Illus. 3).

5. Tuck the opposite end of this strip behind the red horizontal piece with the score lines showing on the top/front (See Illus. 4).

6. Ink up images with Noir Palette Ink pad and stamp onto all four 2” x 2” white card stock pieces. Color with Copic Sketch Markers.

7. Adhere these to each of the 2 1/4” x 2 1/4” colored card stock pieces.

8. Starting at the bottom score line, adhere the top edge of your first 2 1/4” square at that score line. Go to the next score line above this one and adhere the next colored square at that score line. Go to the next score line above this one and adhere the next colored square at that score line. Your last colored square will be adhered to the top of the strip (see. Illus. 5 & 6).

9. Punch a hole 1/2” up from the bottom of the pull strip and attach the ribbon/fiber.

10. Gently pull down and watch the magic unfold. Cool, huh? Now, with the strip pulled all the way down, you may want to stamp a greeting. (see Ill. 7 & 8) Push the strip back up and the greeting disappears.
