Instructions:

1.      Folding of the file folder (See Diagram): Open the file folder and measure up from the bottom edge 4” and scoreacross. Then measure 4” on each side of the centerfold and score.  Fold as per photo.

2.      Unfold the folder and using the Enchanted Evening stamp pad with the direct to paper technique, ink all the edges and creases around the folded portion of the folder. This includes the front and the back of the folder. Ink in approximately 1½” from the edges (See photo). Then use the Pearlescent Crimson stamp pad to add highlights to all the edges.  Next, use the embossing gun to heat set the ink.

3.      Ink the wood piece on one side only with the Enchanted Evening stamp pad and set aside to dry.  After the ink has dried, add the word ART with a Sharpie marker.

4.      Prepare to cut the papers to cover the folder with the paper trimmer. Cut papers as follows:

a)     Outside front and back cover 2 pieces- 4Ό” x 6½".

b)     Back inside cover 2 pieces- 3Ό” x 6½”.

c)     Inside bottom cut 4 pieces-3Ό” x 3Ό”.

d)     Inside top cut 4 pieces-3½” x 4Ό”.

Distress all the edges of all the pieces using the chocolate ink.

5.      Stamp the front piece with the Poetry in Motion stamp as per photo. Using the bird cut out from the Internet, stamp using the direct to paper technique with the Peony stamp pad and then cover with the Pearlescent Crimson stamp pad. Use the gold Gelly roll pen to highlight the bird after ink has dried.  Glue the bird to the front cover per photo. Allow to dry. If you have used a thin paper, adhere the front cover with the bird to a thick piece of paper and cut out. Set aside.

6.      Glue all the papers in place per photo except for the front cover.

7.      Glue the two inside covers with a small amount of glue to form the pockets so that the contents do not fall out.

8.      Decorate tags front & back, the back covers, and the inside lower sections (4 pieces) per photo.  Add ribbons to the tags and position in place.

9.      Using the Black & White ribbon, fold in half. With the fold in the ribbon, place ribbon on the front cover of the file folder and glue in place. Do not glue onto the back because this will allow for the expansion of the book once filled.

10.  Glue the front cover over the glued ribbon. See photo for position. Glue the wooden piece to the front cover with the liquid glue and add the jewels.

11.  Add jewels to the front cover.
