Instructions:

1.    Cut all papers as directed in the supplies.

2.    Round the corners of the two 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" pieces. Cut these two pieces 2" from the right side.

3.    Cut the inner slider piece as shown in the photo.  Lay this piece down on the back pieces of the card.  Place a bead of glue around the outer edges and along the inner edges of the outside card just to the point before it reaches your slider piece (see photo).  Adhere the top pieces to the bottom pieces leaving the slider piece in place.  Let dry.

4.    Stamp owl onto the white piece of cardstock and color with colored pencils, blending if desired using the mineral spirits and blending stump.  Mount this piece onto the burgundy stripe piece slightly larger and then onto the green textured cardstock.  Adhere this entire piece onto the larger portion of the card.  Tie a few knots with the 1/4" strips of cardstock (condition the strips of cardstock by running your fingernail along the piece so that it softens up).  Adhere these to the left side of the owl piece.

5.    Stamp the first part of the saying onto the 1 5/8" x 3 1/4" piece of paper.  Adhere 1/4" strips of the green cardstock to the top and bottom of this piece.  Adhere to the right side of the card front.

6.    Punch a slit punch on the top and bottom of the slider piece (center the punches) so that a gift card can fit in the slits.

7.    Score a straight line 1/4" from the top edge of the 2 3/4" x 3 3/8" piece. Adhere a 1/4" strip of the green cardstock to the top of this piece (above the score line).

8.    Stamp the second part of the saying onto the 2" x 3" piece (on the left side), and the "happy birthday" onto the right side.  Adhere this to the 2 3/4" x 3 3/8" piece. Adhere this to the center of the slider only gluing along the top edge so that it can flip up along the score line to reveal the gift card.
