TAGS:

1.    Lay 10 manila office tags onto newspaper and spray with color washes, use three colors.

2.    Dab excess color off with a paper towel.

3.    Turn the tags over and spray the back sides, dab excess color off with paper towel.

4.    Cut approximately 6” of fibers; separate 3-4 strands of fibers.

5.    Fold the fibers in half and put the folded end into the hole in the tag to make a loop, and then pull the ends through the loop.

6.    Staple the fibers to the tag between the hole and the end of the tag.

7.    Trim the fibers to about 2”.

8.    Set aside to dry.

ASSEMBLE THE BOOK:

1.    Score a piece of 6” x 12” double sided glossy cardstock at 5 1/2” and 5” from one end. Round the corners.

2.    Score the cardstock at 1” on the other end. DO NOT ROUND CORNERS

3.    Fold the 1” end to the center.

4.    Place a 24” piece of ribbon horizontally across the font of the book, extending over the right side about 3-4.”  Staple OVER the ribbon on the fold where you stapled the tags.  This will allow the ribbon to slide freely.

5.    BE CAREFUL NOT TO STAPLE THE COVER OF THE BOOK CLOSED.

6.    Stack the tags into two piles of 5. Lay them side by side under the folded edge, centered, and touching each other.

7.    Staple the folded edge with the tags underneath it approximately 1/4” from the end.  Put two staples into each tag.

8.    Fold the matchbook closed.

9.    Turn the book over and hammer the ends of the staples down if there are any sharp ends sticking up.

10. As you create your pages, accent the tags with flourish stamps.

11. Stamp on the cover inside and out with coordinating permanent inks.

12. Close the book and tie a bow in the ribbon.  This will come in handy when your mini book is full of photos and tags for journaling.

PHOTO DETAILS:

1.    Print wallet size photos or trim larger photos to approximately 2” square.

2.    Be sure to “journal” on the tags so you will remember the occasion in the photo.

3.    Place a mini brad through the hole in the tag, but glue the tag behind the photo or next to the photo so you can use the back side of the tag as well.

4.    Each tag is its own page or use a larger picture to attach 2 tags as one page.

COVER:

1.    Attach a large daisy and punched flower with a brad to the front cover, lower right.

2.    Cut the title out of cardstock, adjust size to fit the nameplate, glue the title to the cover.

3.    Use mini brads to attach the copper name plate over the title.

Glue a 4 1/2” x 5 1/2” rectangle of orange cardstock with two rounded corners on the inside of the cover to hide the ends of the brad and use for journaling or a dedication.
