MonoChromatic Stamping Technique

Lori Ronnerud
Magic Stampin’ Bus Designer

Newbies Stamping Team

Monochromatic means different shades of one color family. The simple beauty of various shades in one color family can be very striking.

Supplies:

Brown cardstock (Bazzill)
Walnut 4” x 5Ό”
Pinecone 2½” x 3Ύ”
Java 8½” x 5½”
Naturals cardstock (The Angel Company)
Medium 3½” x 4½”
Light 2½” x 3 ½”

Burnt Umber Palette Ink pad (Stewart Superior)
Flourishes stamp set (The Angel Company)
Violin Collage stamp (The Angel Company)
Beige Brush Marker (Marvy)
Deckle Scissors (Fiskars)
Corner Rounder (Paper Shapers)
Coluzzle Rectangle Template, cutting matt and knife (unknown)
MonoAdhesive (Tombow)

Instructions:

1. Fold java cardstock in half.

2. Take the piece of walnut cardstock and lay on the Coluzzle mat. Place the rectangle         template on top centering it over the walnut cardstock. Cut out center rectangle measuring 2Ύ” x 4” creating a frame.

3. Ink up the largest stamp from Flourishes with Burnt Umber ink pad. Start stamping the walnut frame. I started in the left corner on one of the short sides. Turn the frame and continue stamping. There will be a small gap so I used the second largest stamp from Flourishes. Ink up the “loopy” end and stamp in the gap on the frame.

4. Ink up the Violin Collage stamp with the Burnt Umber ink pad. Stamp image on the light naturals piece of cardstock. Trim edges with the deckle scissors. Take the Beige brush marker and lightly color in the flowers.

5. Use Mono Adhesive to attach the medium naturals cardstock to the center front of the folded java card.

6. Use Mono Adhesive to attach the frame to the folded card.

7. Round the corners of the pinecone cardstock. Attach to the folded card, centering it inside the frame.

8. Use Mono Adhesive to attach the stamped image to the piece of pinecone cardstock.

9. If desired, you can attach a piece of the light naturals cardstock (4” x 5Ό”) to the inside of the card so it is easier to write on.
