Pearl-Ex Mingle

Looking for more ways
to use those shimmery Pearl-Ex powders? This elegant technique will surely
become a favorite!
Supplies:
- Ageless Adornment
Stamp set (Stampin' Up!)
- Black StazOn ink
(if desired....can use Eggplant instead)
- Modge Podge
- Stipple brush
- Elegant Eggplant
Cardstock, cut to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (1), 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" (1)
- Glossy White
Cardstock, cut to 5 1/4" x 4" (1)
- White Vellum paper,
cut to 2" x 2" (1) and extra piece to stamp and cut out butterfly (3 1/2" x
2 1/2" minimum)
- Brushed Gold
cardstock, cut to 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" (1)
- Pearl Ex powders -
Interference Gold, Misty Lavender, Interference Violet
- Elegant Eggplant
Classic Inkpad
- Stampin' Pastels
(Chalk Pastels) - Lovely Lilac, Yoyo Yellow, Glorious Green, Elegant
Eggplant
- Scissors
- Glue/Tape
- Vellum
tape (if available)
- 24 gauge gold wire,
cut to 2" length
- Needle nose pliers
- Pop-up glue dot
- Mini glue dot
- Gold cording - 5-6"
(enough to tie a small bow)
Instructions:
- Using stipple
brush, brush Modge Podge all over glossy cardstock.
- Dip brush in Pearl
Ex and stipple into wet Modge Podge.
- Alternate colours
to get a varied colour effect.
- Dry with Heat Tool
or allow to dry naturally.
- Stamp butterfly
randomly on Modge Podge background using Elegant Eggplant ink.
- Glue/tape onto
Elegant Eggplant cardstock
- Stamp the butterfly
on the larger piece of vellum using Stazon ink.
- Allow ink to dry,
then colour with chalk pastels.
- Cut butterfly out
and curl wings up, away from body slightly.
- Using needle nose
pliers, twist ends of 2" of fine gold wire into tiny circles, for the end of
the butterfly's antennae.
- Bend wire in centre
and use glue dot to place antennae onto card.
- Attach body of
butterfly to card with head covering glue dot and allowing wings to remain
unglued.
- Stamp verse onto 2"
x 2" vellum and mount to Elegant Eggplant 2 1/4" square, then to gold 2 1/2"
square. Attach to card.
- Tie gold cording
into small bow, trim excess cording and attach with mini glue dot.
