1” Square piece of kitchen sponge (Dollar Store)
Artist Watercolor paintbrush, size 6  (Michaels)
Small container of water

Instructions:

1.      Prep the Twinkling H2Os with 3-4 drops of water to each color to soften.  Adding more will make them more transparent.  They will start to thicken, so you will want to add water as necessary but they do look better when applied thicker on the black glossy cardstock.

2.      Wet the 1” square of kitchen sponge and squeeze out most of the water.  You just want it damp.  On the half sheet of Black glossy cardstock, begin sponging the various colors of Twinkling H2Os, in the order listed, until the whole sheet is covered and you’re happy with the background created.  Clean the sponge when you change colors.

3.      When the sheet is dry, cut three 1 x 5 1/8” strips and one 2 3/8 x 4” panel. Edge all pieces with the black marker and set aside.

4.      Stamp the hydrangea with Versafine Black Onyx on the white mat cardstock and emboss with the clear powder.  Paint the flower with Passion and Ocean wave, creating various shades of purples and lavenders.  Paint the leaves and stem with Moss Green and Sunflower.

5.      When dry, turn the circle punch upside down, insert the painted flower face up and punch out the circle.  Sponge around the outside edges of the flower image with the Sunflower H2Os to create a gold background.  Edge the circle panel with the black marker.

6.      On a scrap piece of the white matte cardstock, stamp the text with the Versafine Black Onyx.  Heat set (or it can be clear embossed) and cut into a 2 x 1 ¼” panel.  Round the edges with the corner punch.  Sponge Sunflower Twinkling H2Os on the panel, edge with the black marker and set aside.

7.      Make a 4 x 7 1/2” card with the Parchment cardstock.  Cut a 4 x 5 1/8” panel from the Textured Gold cardstock and attach to the top front of the card with the tape runner.  Adhere the three background strips with the tape runner as shown, centering the middle strip and leaving a 1/8” border on the left and right edges of the other two.

8.      Attach the remaining background panel to the bottom of the card.  Cut two ½ x 4” strips of the Textured Gold cardstock.  Layer one with a slightly larger white Glossy strip and trim one edge with the deckle edge scissors.  Attach this strip over the seam created at the bottom of the three-strip panel.

9.      Layer the text panel with a Textured Gold panel and trim to 1/8” on all four sides.  Round the corners.  Attach this panel to the center of the remaining Textured Gold strip with the tape runner.  Punch a 1/8” hole on each side of the text panel and attach the black brads.  Secure the panel and strip across the middle of the bottom panel.

10.   Layer the flower panel with a 2 5/8” Textured Gold panel and trim to 1/8” around with the deckle edge scissors.  Punch a 3” circle from the remaining background sheet, edge with black and then attach it to a slightly larger glossy white panel.  Trim the white panel close to the 3” circle with deckle edge scissors.

11. Layer the flower panel with the 3” circle panel and adhere to the top center of the card as shown.
