Flowers Challenge

By Beki Ward
Hot Rod Scrampers
Advanced Scramping Team Designer

Supplies:
Flowers, “Smile” & sentiment stamps (Close To My Heart)
Basic Black dye ink (Stampin’ Up!)
Two pieces scrapbooking paper (approx. 2 ½” x 5”), patterned, coordinating colors
One “trash” CD
Coordinating ribbon and paper flowers
Rhinestone brads, Rhinestones
Epoxy photo corner sticker
Jump rings, head pins, coordinating beads
Adhesives:  ATG Tape (PennyWiseArts.com)
Crafter’s Choice Decoupage Glue (ClubScrap.com)
Glue Dots
Crop-o-dile & two large eyelets
Xyron “X” sticker maker
Fine grit sand paper
Scissors

Instructions:

1.      Using the fine sand paper, lightly sand the side of the CD that has a design/print on it, making sure to clean off any residue.

2.      Using the CD for a pattern/template, trace a half-circle onto the back of each piece of scrapbooking paper; using scissors, cut out.

3.      Using the Crafter’s Choice glue and a sponge brush, brush on a thin coat onto the sanded side of the CD and adhere a piece of coordinating, patterned scrapbooking paper.  Allow this to dry a few minutes, repeat this process on the other side of the CD.  If desired, another piece of scrapbook paper or cardstock may be adhered to the back to completely cover the CD.

4.      Trim a piece of ribbon approximately ¼” longer than the width of the CD and run it through the Xyron sticker maker; remove the paper and adhere the ribbon over the “seam” between the two pieces of scrapbooking paper; trim flush with the edge.

5.      Trim a photo to fit on the CD and adhere where you wish.

6.      Using black ink and stamps, randomly stamp the flowers, then “Smile”, then the sentiment where desired.

7.      Using the Crop-o-dile, punch two large holes near the top center of the CD and set two eyelets.  Then, punch three small holes around the bottom edge.

8.      Using three head pins thread several coordinating beads and create a circle at the open end to accommodate a jump ring; add the jump ring and affix to the three small holes at the bottom of the CD.

9.      Add rhinestone brads to the center of three flowers; using glue dots, adhere to the CD where desired.

10.  Randomly add rhinestone “stickers” where desired and one epoxy corner sticker to the photo.

11.  Thread a long piece of ribbon through the two eyelet holes and tie a pretty bow for hanging; glue dots may be used behind the bow to keep it from moving.
