Ornaments
Romantic Victorian Cone Ornament

By Karen Gibson
Rubber Roadsters
Advanced Stamping Team

For some reason, the upcoming holiday is just putting me in a romantic mood. I love the old Victorian style and colors. The shades of rose, pinks, greens, browns and gold are just delightful! This is what prompted me to go Victorian this season!

Supplies:
Stamp set: Yuletide Montage (Stampin’ Up!)
9 ˝” Paper cone (Darice)
One sheet of 12”x12” Bella Rose designer paper (Stampin’ Up!)
Jet Black Ink Pad (StazOn)
Ink Pads (Stampin’ Up!):
    Regal Rose
    Rose Red
    Summer Sun
    More Mustard
    Chocolate Chip
    Certainly Celery
    Blush Blossom
Sizzix Big Shot die cutter (Ellison)
Scallop Envelope Die for Big Shot (Stampin’ Up!)
Cardstock (Stampin’ Up!):
    Scrap of Chocolate Chip cardstock
    Scrap of Shimmering White cardstock
Embellishments:
    Lace trims
    Gold ribbon
    Gold poinsettia
    Flowers
    String of pearls
    Gold cording
˝” size red line tape (Stampin’ Up!)
Pop Up Glue Dots (Envelopments)
Scissors (Stampin’ Up!)
Filler items:
    Cello bag (Stampin’ Up!)
    Nuggets candy (Hershey)
Additional designer paper to cover the candy

Instructions:

1.  I didn’t use a pattern to cover the cone with the paper. What I did was lay the paper on the table, put the cone on top of it, and then just rolled it around the cone. The excess paper was cut while I was still holding it around the cone on an angle. I left enough extra edge to apply the red liner tape to. After the tape was secured, I trimmed off the top of the paper since there was excess hanging over the top of the cone. Again, I left enough extra edge so I could fold it down over the top of the cone and adhere to the inside with the tape.

2.  Next, Adhere tape around the top outside edge of cone then add the trim.

3.  For the hanger, cut a length of ribbon for the hanger, and then, also, adhere that with the tape. Adhere a ribbon to the inside edge to cover the raw edges of the ribbon hanger.

4.  For the card, stamp an angel image on Shimmery White cardstock using Jet Back StazOn. Use a water pen to pick up the above listed ink colors and color the image. The trim the image with scissors and layer on Chocolate Chip cardstock.

5.  Process the Scallop Envelop Die with the Sizzix Big Shot on parchment paper. Ink edges with Chocolate Chip ink and adhere to Chocolate Chip layer.

6.  Cut length of pearls and gold cord and adhere to one side of cone with large glue dots. Add cord to the envelope and attach that in the same place as pearls. Add the flower on top of the pearls. Insert stamped image in the envelope.

7.  Measure and cut the designer paper against the candy.  Fold a sleeve cover over the candy and secure with a glue dot. Fill cello bag with the candy, tie with gold cord, and place in the cone.

8.  Hang on the Tree and enjoy!
