Christmas Tree Jewelry

Becky Lemire
Crafty Cruisers
Intermediate Stamping Team Designer

My Great Aunt is a great lover of ALL jewelry.  She picks up whatever jewels she finds at garage sales and thrift stores.  Her daughter works at a Goodwill so she, also, receives tons of it from there...talk about enabling.  Recently she gave me a very large freezer bag full of jewelry of all kinds and told me to do something with it.  In this assortment was a pair of earrings that looked like stone and were a little over an inch in diameter.  My thoughts wandered to Christmas tree jewelry since our theme this time is Christmas ornaments. So, I pulled out some small stamps and started creating.

Supplies:
Holly Jolly Christmas rubber stamp set (Firecracker Designs by Pamela)
Burnt Umber Palette Ink (Stewart Superior)
Reds, Greens & Yellows Copic Markers
Pair of Large Old Earrings
Red 1/16" Satin Ribbon (Offray)
Aleene's Tacky Glue (Duncan Enterprises)
Gold Crimper Bead
Heat Gun (Marvy)

Instructions:

1.   Remove the posts from the back of the earrings. Stamp images onto the face of the both earrings and heat set.

2.   Color in the images using Copic Markers.

3.   Glue the backs of the earrings together. Let dry.

4.   Glue a piece of ribbon around the edges of the ornament leaving enough ribbon to make a hanger loop. Slide a crimp bead down the "hanger" portion of the ribbon to the ornament. Crimp and this will hold your ribbon in place while your glue dries. Tie a Bow with the same type of ribbon over the crimp bead to cover and finish this ornament off.
