Instructions:

    1. Use the clay mold and push softened Makin’s Clay into the mold.  Be sure that the mold is completely filled. Try to make the back of the mold flat using a ruler this will keep you from having to sand the project later.  Set aside to begin drying. Allow clay to dry for about 2 hours and remove from mold, then clay will need to dry for a couple days.

    1. Cut the glossy cardstock to 8.5” by 5.5”. Fold cardstock in half to equal 4.25” by 5.5” glossy side out.  Using the Cranberry ink and the brayer coat the glossy side of the card.

    1. Cut the black card stock to size 8.5” by 5.5”.  Next, using Spritzer, wet one piece of the cardstock with water.  Crumple the wet cardstock into a ball squeezing hard.  This helps to create a leather appearance in the cardstock.  Smooth out the cardstock and set aside to dry.

    1. Stamp the oriental words on glossy cardstock.  Use the black stamp pad and be sure there is plenty of ink on the stamp.  Coat the black ink with the clear embossing power.  Shake off excess powder and emboss with the heat gun.  Also, stamp the two small birds on the glossy cardstock, but do not emboss.  See photo for position.

    1. When black cardstock has dried, coat the cardstock with the Palette glue.  Heat the glue on the cardstock and use paint brush to coat cardstock with the Blush Perfect Pearls.  Shake off the extra blush color and recoat the cardstock with the Palette glue and heat.  Add Misty Lavender Pearl Ex with paintbrush over the heated glue.  Shake off extra Pearl Ex and recoat with the Palette glue and heat.  Add the Mink Pearl Ex with paintbrush and then shake off the extra amount.

    1. Random stamp the coated black cardstock with the Bamboo Stamp and the clear embossing pad.  Cover the stamped bamboo with Gold detail embossing powder.  Shake off excess gold powder and emboss.  Cut black cardstock to 3” by 4.75” and glue to the cranberry cardstock using the Zig glue.  See photo for position.
    1. After the clay face is completely dry, glue to a piece of scrap black cardstock.  Paint the face with the Gold Iridescent Ink and set aside to dry.

    1. Cut a piece of the copper wire to 3½”.  Crimp wire and add this sequence of beads as follows until the strand of wire is completely full:  1 Black bead and 2 red beads.  When wire is full, crimp the end and fold the wire in half.  Twist the wire together and glue strand to the center top of the head with E6000.   See pattern.

    2. Cut a second strand of wire to 3½”.  Crimp one end of the wire and add beads as follows: 12 small black tubular beads, 1 small pink round bead, 1 larger red bead, a small pink round bead and 12 small black tubular beads. Crimp end of wire and fold the black beads in half towards the middle on each end.  This strand of wire creates a base for the next   strand of wire.  Glue the large round bead in the middle of the head in front of the other strand.   See pattern.

    3. The 3rd strand of copper wire is to be cut 10" long.  Crimp one end of the wire and string beads in pattern listed below:

1 Black bead, 4 Red beads, 2 black beads, 4 red beads, 2 black beads, 4 red beads, 2 black beads, 4 red beads, 1 black bead.

Crimp end of wire leaving beads loose on wire.  Start bending the wire in a comb fashion after ever two red beads and after each black bead.  When this is scrunched together, you will have four loops with all the black beads on the bottom.  See photo for example.  Glue piece in front of the 2nd strand of wire.  See pattern.

    4. Wire strands #4 and #5 should be cut to 5" each.  Crimp end of wire and begin stringing Gold, pearls and champagne beads, including some tubular beads to completely fill the wire and crimp end of wire.  Repeat for strand 5.  At one end of each wire, wind beads into a small circle and bend wire as indicated in photo.  Glue bent wires to each side of the head.  See pattern.

    5. Trim toothpicks to about 1Ό" long to make adornments for the headdress.  Paint toothpicks with the iridescent gold ink and set aside to dry.

    6. Trim the black cardstock from around the face and glue face to coated cardstock.  Place three large beads at the bottom of the chin:  1 pink, 1 red, 1 pink.  See photo.

    7. Glue toothpick pieces to headdress.  See photo for placement.

Note:  Be creative - design a headdress pattern of your own.
