Shaker Box Ornament - Trash to Treasure
Super Easy Shakers from old GWP boxes

Cheryl Hurttgam, #273

Advanced
Stamping Team Designer

Although I made these with the small “Gift with Purchase” boxes that come with stamps from The Angel Company, they can be made with the small boxes from Sizzix dies or similar boxes.  I used larger boxes and made shaker desk boxes and put them on a small base.  One is a beach scene with sand and miniature beach toys.

Supplies

•  What An Angel Stamp Set (TAC)
•  Black Hybrid Palette Inkpad (Superior)
•  Purple Hybrid Palette Inkpad (Superior)
•  Watercolor Markers (Tombow)
•  2 - 2”x2” squares of white card stock
•  Monoadhesive (Tombow)
•  1-2 Tablespoons of Filler Beads (JoAnn Fabrics)
•  Butterfly Punch (unknown)
•  Stickles
•  Pop Dots (Homemade. See Embossing Resist article on how-to make your own)

Instructions:

1.    With purple ink stamp the words on one piece of the 2”x2” card stock.

2.    With black ink stamp the angel onto the other piece of 2”x2” card stock.

3.    Color the image with markers and cut out.

4.    Add Stickles to the halo of the angel and set aside to dry.

5.    Make two strips of monoadhesive on the back of the stamped word square.  Adhere to the flap of the box.

6.    Place pop dots on the back of the angel cut out and stick to the square that is on the flap of the box.

7.    Put the filler beads in the deeper side of the box and close.

8.    Punch a butterfly out of decorative paper and adhere to the front of the box, with monoadhesive, to hide the recycling number.

9.    Hang on a tree, in a window or from a hook on a bulletin board.

These boxes can also be added to cards to make fast, fun shaker cards (see sample).
