Watercolor Crayons Direct to Stamp

By Rita Holmes

Off Road Inksters

Intermediate Scramping Team Designer

Supplies:
Flower Squiggles (TAC, The Angel Company)
Swirley Flowers (TAC, The Angel Company)
Watercolor Crayons (Lyra~*TAC)
Cardstock (color of your choice): Cut to size: 8”x8”
Contrasting cardstock cut to fit picture as a mat
Cardstock cut for borders out of main and contrasting color
White Cardstock
Yellow round brads (Creative Impressions)
Green tiny round brads (Creative Impressions)
Button Alphabet (unknown)
Fabri-Tac glue (Beacon)
Water Spritzer
MonoAdhesive (Tombow)

Instructions:

  1. Cut main color of cardstock 8”x8”, or your desired size, and a piece for the border (mine is 1 ½”x8”).
  2. Cut contrasting color for mat for picture (mine is 4 ¼”x6 ¼”) and for border (mine is 2”x8”).
  3. Cut white cardstock to fit on top of the two border colors big enough to stamp (mine is 1¼”x8”)
  4. Using the watercolor crayons; color directly on the flower stamp from the Swirley Flower set.  Spritz lightly with water and stamp onto white cardstock.  For eyeing the measurement, I stamped the middle flower first, the ones on each end second, and the two center ones last.  Who likes to measure with a ruler anyway!
  5. Using the watercolor crayons and a leaf off the stem in the Flower Squiggles set, repeat as above and stamp next to the flowers.
  6. You can dry with a heat gun or let air dry.  When dry, place a yellow brad in the center of each flower.
  7. Mat the picture with the mat you cut from the contrasting color cardstock.  Adhere to your page.  Layer the colors for the border and the stamped border on top of each other.  Center under picture leaving room at the bottom for the alphabet buttons.
  8. Place a green brad in the hold of each button for the name.  Adhere to page with the brads.

You now have a completed watercolor direct from stamp to paper layout.

ENJOY!!!!!
