Faux Postage
By
Wanda Troupe, TAC Angel #1045 Supplies Instructions 1. Stamp postage stamps onto white cardstock. Mask edges with thin post-it strips and stamp images and/or letters. Using a piece of hydra sponge, shade inside of masked area. Remove masking and cut out with mini scallop scissors. Ink edges with Versamark and heat emboss with silver embossing powder. 2. Stamp the remaining letters of “Heaven” and Sent” onto light plum cardstock with dark plum ink. Cut into strips and round the corners on the right side to create a tag. Punch hole with 1/8” hole punch and attach white eyelet. Dry brush with white paint. Ink edges with Versamark and heat emboss with silver embossing powder. Thread plum fiber and strips of cheesecloth through holes. 3. Mat picture with white cardstock leaving a 1/4" border on all sides, then again with light plum cardstock. Dry brush edge and picture with white paint to give a sanded look. Ink edges of matting with Versamark and heat emboss with silver embossing powder. 4. Stamp vintage baby images and long rectangle shadow stamp onto background of light lavender cardstock in a collage style with light plum ink. Using upper and lower case letters from the Ancient Page stamp set, arrange the word “baby” onto the acrylic block and stamp multiple times onto background using light plum ink. 5. Dry brush white paint across background to give a sort of sanded effect. Spray sparingly with Terra Cotta Walnut Ink to age. 6. Ink edges of background with Versamark and heat emboss with silver embossing powder. 7. Align journaling on a scrap piece of computer paper and print. When satisfied with the placement, print final copy on background. 8. Punch circle from the aluminum metal of a clean soda can using the 1-1/4” circle punch. Punch hole in top using 1/8” hole punch. Thread plum fiber and a strip of cheesecloth. Stamp the words “3 mos” onto the metal tag with Ancient Alphabet stamp set using Black StazOn ink. 9. Glue picture to right center of page. Attach title at the top above journaling. Glue faux postage grid at bottom left corner and metal tag at bottom right corner of picture. Voila! Layout completed!
