Instructions
NOTE: Any appropriate
floral and trim patterned paper for background layers on the card may be
substituted for the wallpaper.
1. Fold light brown
cardstock to make the card.
2. Glue floral wallpaper
onto the card and add the strips of trim at the sides.
3. Using the flat brush
and brown acrylic paint thinned with water, follow the shape of logs to color in
the front of the cabin. Paint the sides of the cabin and the lower edge.
4. Using the square
brush and red acrylic paint thinned with water, color the roof, top and sides.
5. Brush the
full-strength red acrylic paint onto the chimney and paint the sides and top of
the chimney.
6. Let the painted
surface dry.
7. Using the flat brush
and brown acrylic paint thinned with water; apply a “shingle effect” to the
roof. Refer to photo for guidance.
8. Cut a piece of paper
section from your scraps to make a plain color “cabin door.”
9. Use a corner of the
flat brush; draw in six small squares onto the “door,” with brown acrylic paint
slightly thinned with water. Refer to photo for color placement.
10. After all the paint
is dry, glue the door onto the back of the cabin with the panel effect showing
to the front.
11. Glue the cabin to
the partially constructed card.
12. Cut a small scrap of
paper of an appropriate color as a threshold for the door. Use a small half
circle shape. See example card.
13. Stamp the floral and
vine stamp images onto brown paper bag using the clear embossing ink. Follow
the card example for placement of the tiny flower images on the brown paper bag.
Stamp 4 large flowers,
11 tiny flowers, 3 long vines and 3 short vines.
14. Dust the stamped
images with the Espresso embossing powder. Tap off and save excess embossing
powder.
15. Melt the embossing
powder with the heat gun.
16. Cut out the images,
leaving a border of the brown paper around the images.
17. By following the
card example, glue and place the flowers and vines onto the cabin and
background.
18. There are a few
background scraps used as leaves and foliage. Cut and pace them onto the card to
accent the stamped images.
See example card.
19. Using the side of
the flat brush, add some small dabs of brown around the upper doorway flower
spray. See example card
20. Use the flat brush
to add red acrylic to the centers of the flowers.
21. Cut a scrap
background paper slightly smaller than the glass pebble, glue this to the roof
where you want the “skylight” to be.
22. Glue the glass
pebble to that spot using glue only around the edges of the pebble.

Fits envelope size: 5 5/8 X 8 3/8”
Instructions
1. Cut all papers to
size indicated.
2. Punch corners of the
red glossy paper.
3. Fold the largest
white card stock to make the body of the card. It will be an 8”x11” card.
4. Measure out one
teaspoon each of the red toned embossing powders and mix together in
small container.
5. On the gold paper,
stamp four flower images with clear embossing ink. Next, dust on the mixture
of the two red toned embossing powders; tap off the excess and save it.
6. Heat the images with
a heat tool to melt the embossing powder.
7. On the gold paper,
stamp three flower images with clear embossing ink, then dust with the Vine
Maple embossing powder; tap off excess and save it.
8. Heat the images to
melt the embossing powder.
9. On the gold paper,
stamp seven individual holly leaf images with clear embossing ink, then dust
with the white embossing powder.
10. Heat the images to
melt the embossing powder.
11. Cut out the flowers
and the leaves leaving a small area of the gold paper around the edge of each
image.
12. Cut four 1
½’”squares of the gold paper. Glue them to the corners of the red glossy paper,
so they are aligned to form the corners of the paper. The War Eagle is now
framed on each corner.
13. Glue the red glossy
paper to the white card.
14. Glue the smaller
white cardstock piece to the red.
Set this partially
completed project aside.
Raised Glue Texture on Brown Paper
(Please “play” with this
and enjoy it on many other projects!)
1. Cut uneven leaf
shapes out of brown paper, these may be very simple and not too detailed. Refer
to example card for the general shape. Make five or more to have plenty to work
with.
2. Crinkle and crush
each leaf and smooth them out, but leave some “distress look” on each.
3. Using the Tacky Glue,
and the small brush, “paint” the glue fairly heavily around the edge of each
leaf and make a simple center vein on each leaf, with a glue line. There can be
thick and thin lines of glue. Rinse out paint brush when finished.
4. Hold the leaf with
the clothespin and heat each leaf with the heat gun until the glue bubbles and
becomes dry. Bubbling is a good way to add texture to the finished leaves.
Adding more glue is fine and adds more texture.
5. Lay the leaves out on
your work surface and allow them to have time for the glue to completely dry.
Time will be determined by how long you heated them, the humidity, and so on.
6. When the leaves are
dry, go over them with the cranberry ink from the Adirondack pad in direct to
paper method. Cover the leaves completely. The dry glue will become shiny and
the brown paper will be dull. Let these dry thoroughly; you may use the heat gun
to help the process.
7. Follow the example
card in the placement of the large leaves and the stamped images. Glue the large
leaves first, then the holly and the flower images. Put a bit of glue on each
and tuck them in.
