Glazed Bottle Cap Embellishment

Amy McIntire

Designer

This unique, fun series will focus on how to create neat embellishments that are made from ordinary small objects. This charming tag can be added to any scrapbook, card or can be a stand-alone project!

Supplies:

•  Bloom (The Angel Company)
•  Sepia Archival Ink (Ranger Industries)
•  Cream cardstock (Unknown)
•  Yellowstone textured cardstock (Bazzill)
•  Vineyard textured cardstock (Bazzill)
•  Plastic luggage tag (junk find)
•  Bottle cap
•  Paper Effects - clear dimensional glazing medium (Deco Art)
•  “All-together” Floral paper (My Mind’s Eye – Wild Asparagus):  Cut to size: 2 ˝” x 4”
•  Coral grosgrain ribbon
•  Adhesive
•  Circle punch – 1” (Making Memories)
•  Black marker – fine tip
•  Bronze gel pen
•  Colored pencils
•  Blending pen (Tombow)
•  Cotton swab
•  White Eyelet
•  Mini stapler

Instructions:

 1.      Cut piece of floral paper to cover the tag, adhere. Cut out slot at the top of the tag for the ribbon (which will be added later).

2.     Tear a piece of the Yellowstone cardstock, ink the edges and adhere it to the tag as shown. Stamp “Bloom” phrase.

3.     Punch out 1” circle with Vineyard paper and adhere to the inside of the bottle cap.

4.     Use the shoe with flowers stamp to create the image onto Yellowstone paper. Stamp again onto a darker patch on the floral paper. Cut out the shoe image from the floral paper and cut out the flowers from the Yellowstone paper.

5.     Take the floral shoe and piece it to the Yellowstone stamped shoe. Outline with black marker and bronze gel pen. Adhere this to a small piece of Vineyard cardstock and add onto the tag as shown.

6.     Using the stamped flowers that were cut out in step 4, color with pencils and blend with blending pen. Adhere to the Vineyard circle in the bottle cap.

7.     Following manufacturer’s instructions, apply the dimensional glazing medium. Let dry until completely clear.

8.     Adhere completed bottle cap onto the tag as shown and thread coral grosgrain ribbon through cut hole in step 1. To hold the threaded ribbon in place, add a staple.

9.     Take cotton swab and ink sides of tag.
