Paints: Tempera paint, Acrylic Paint, or Re~inkers
Small plastic bowls for your paint
Covered surface

Instructions:
1. Select your paint colors. It's really fun to have more than one string with
different colors.
2. Select your cardstock color and cut to size: 5½”x8½”. Fold cardstock in
half with a bone folder and reopen.
3. Take your piece of string and submerge 3/4 of it in the paint leaving an
end free of paint to hold on to.
4. Lay the paint covered string on one side of the folded paper in any type
pattern leaving the clean end of the string out so you can hold on to it.
5. Fold the paper back together and put your hand on the paper so you
can feel the string through the paper and begin pulling the string out
moving it around the edges of the paper.
6. Variations: "Paint" with one string color at a time, letting dry and
then "paint" with another color. Instead of folding your cardstock and
pulling the string through the paper, lay paper flat and paint with your
string, dropping onto paper, swirling around, etc.
Mainly, just have fun!
Tips:
1. Don't be afraid to
use dark cardstock!
2. These make stunning backgrounds when using bright and metallic paints.
