Sanding Cardstock

By Lori Ronnerud-Guimond
Crafty Cruisers
Intermediate Stamping Design Team

You will want to have cardstock that has a white core for this technique. MatchMakers has an awesome variety of colors to choose from as well as coordinating solid & background papers.  One word of warning, this is addictive!

Supplies:

•  M & Ms Pumpkins stamp set (TAC)
•  Limited Edition Pumpkins stamp set (TAC)
•  Green MatchMakers cardstock; ¼ Sheet (11” x 4¼”)
•  MatchMakers Green Striped Background paper (2¼” x 4”)
•  Piece of Cork Paper (1-3/4” x 1-5/8”) (TAC)
•  Piece of Cork Paper (2¼” x 2¼”) (TAC)
•  Piece of Orange MatchMakers paper (1-3/4” x 1-5/8”)
•  Piece/scrap of Orange MatchMakers paper
•  VersaMark (Tsukineko)
•  Noir Black Palette Hybrid Ink (Stewart Superior)
•  Sandpaper or fingernail emery board
•  Prisma Colored Pencils (Sanford)
•  Double Spiral Clip  (Memory Makers)
•  Mono Adhesive (Tombow)
•  Zots clear glue dots (Therm-o-Web)

Instructions:

1.    Fold green cardstock in half.  Take sandpaper (or emery board) and lightly sand the cardstock.  Be careful not to bend or crumple the cardstock while sanding it.  Sand harder/lighter in different areas of the cardstock to give it more depth.

2.    Fold back top right corner and tear off the very end leaving some folded over. Glue down with Mono Adhesive. You can sand the folded edge some.

3.    Mount striped background paper to bottom right corner.

4.    Stamp saying on small piece of cork paper.  Tear around all 4 sides carefully.

5.    Attach this to the piece of orange paper.  Mount onto folded cardstock in upper left corner.

6.    Stamp pumpkins on the scrap pieces of orange paper.  Color the stems brown.  Use a green pencil to go over the vines.  Highlight pumpkins with a dark orange pencil.  Trim and mount onto striped paper.

7.    Attach double spiral clip with Zots clear glue dots.

8.    Take the large piece of cork paper and place it on the inside upper right corner.  You can tear this piece diagonally parallel with the folded front corner if desired. Otherwise mount with Mono Adhesive.
