Stamping Team Designer
This
month I will show you 3 different spotlighting techniques using a circle, square
and a domino. I’ve used the same stamp in all three samples to show how each
design looks and changes the appearance. This fun way of adding color allows
you to dress up a card without coloring the entire image.

Project 1 - Circles
Supplies
•
Picking Berries stamp(Creative Images)
• Saying – A
Little Something (TAC)
• Vine Leaves
stamp (PSX)
• Noir Black
Palette Hybrid Ink Pad (Stewart Superior ~ TAC)
• VersaMark™
Ink Pad (TSUKINEKO ~
TAC)
• Colored
Pencils (Prismacolor ~
TAC)
• Permanent
Black Marker (Sharpie)
• 7” x 10”
Navy/White two-sided cardstock
• 6 ½” x 4 ½”
Baby Blue cardstock
• 4 ½” x 3 ¼”
Black cardstock
• 2 - 4 ¼” x
3” White cardstock
• 1 ½” circle
punch (Marvy)
• Mono
Adhesive (Tombow)
• Papier™
Glass Finish Paper Glaze (Plaid®)
Instructions:
1.
Stamp the mouse image onto both the 4 ¼” x 3” cardstock with the hybrid black
ink.
2.
Attach one of the stamped images to the black card stock with Mono Adhesive.
3.
Stamp the vine images on the edge of the baby blue card stock with Versamark.
4.
Fold the navy card stock in half to create an A7 size card.
5.
Attach the baby blue to the navy using Mono Adhesive.
6.
Attach the black-bordered image to the baby blue off center to the left side of
the card.
7.
Stamp the saying onto the baby blue card stock centering it over the image card.
8.
Center the portion of the second stamped image you wish to spotlight in the
underside opening of the circle punch and punch out your image. Color the
punched image with the pencil colors you have selected.
9.
Using a large chisel tipped black marker, outline the edge of the punched out
circle. Put a couple of strips of monoadhesive on the back of the circle; line
up the images perfectly and press to adhere.
10.
Place your card on a flat surface that can remain undisturbed for a day or so.
Fill the circle image with the paper glaze until it has a bubble like surface.
Don’t over do it as it will run off. If bubbles form inside your glaze, use a
straight pin to pop them or lift them out. They will not disappear during the
drying process. Set aside for 24 hours to dry completely.
TIP:
A faster (cheater’s) way to achieve the circle image is to trace a punched
circle onto the original stamped image and just color it in. No trying to line
up your images.

with the cotton swaps. The colors will be soft and subtle.

the images perfectly on your card and on your domino and press to adhere.

Place your card on a flat surface that can remain undisturbed for a day or so.

disappear during the drying process. Set aside for 24 hours to dry completely.
