Haunted House

By Casey Cholaki
Rubber Roadsters
Advanced Stamping Team Designer

Ghosts, Goblins, and Great Scary Beasties….. Oh My! Halloween is almost here! This month there are three ways you can use my design project or, as the title says, three treats in one.

1. Display as a Centerpiece for a mantle or table (that is against a wall so the back does not show).

2. Use as an invitation to a Halloween event or party.

3. Create a spooky scrapbook page.

Supplies:

•  Dracula (Green Eyed Goblin Rubber Art Stamps)
•  Various Stamped Images (Inky Antics)
•  Black Memories inkpad (Stewart Company)
•  Bright Yellow cardstock; cut to size 5½” x 8½ ”
•  Black cardstock cut to size
        3” x 6Ύ”
        5½” x 8½ ”
•  White cardstock scraps
•  Gray cardstock scraps
•  Die cuts (Sizzlites)
•  Metal ruler and scissors
•  Colored Pencils
•  Silver Gel pen
•  Black pen
•  Glue Stick or glue/adhesive of your choice

Instructions:

1.    Begin by stamping the children and Dracula stamps on white cardstock. Color stamps and cut out (see picture). On a piece of yellow cardstock, stamp the hanging spider in black ink from the Inky Antics (children’s stamp) and set them aside for later.

2.    Take a piece of yellow & black cardstock to trace the house template on.  Later, the pieces will be glued together to give house strength. Add a piece of folded cardstock to back of house (as in the back of a stand up picture frame) and glue it in place behind the door. Use a white or light gray paper to cover yellow cardstock in doorway to write the invitation on or glue photo in.

3.    Use your Sizzlit to die cut three ghosts onto white cardstock, one tombstone in gray for the RIP, and one “BOO” in black card stock, which will be glued over a piece of yellow cardstock and one fence in gray or white.  Cut out the tree in black cardstock after folding cardstock in half and placing template on the fold line to cut it out.

4.    Cut out windows and door on house. Place one ghost in upper window and then glue the yellow and black cardstock together. Glue bats and Dracula in windows. Glue one ghost hanging out of the door and the other peeking around the side of the house. On the long strip next to the house template, glue the kids with pumpkins, the tree, and the RIP tombstone next to it. On other side of house, glue the fence attaching it to the back of the house.

Enjoy and let me know if you liked your haunted house and how you are using it J

Until next time this is Casey ….
