Photo Transparency Booklet and Pocket

Amy McIntire

Designer

This project focuses on the Sweet Adeline Chorus’s Championship win at an International Educational Event called IES.  Therefore, the Gold medallion and blue ribbon are on the front, which is from my original blue medal!  I am sincerely proud of my involvement with this fine singing group and wanted to share it.

This project can be tailored to any memorable event.

Supply List:

•  Express It stamp set (Making Memories)
•  Rummage Alphabet (Making Memories)
•  Magnetic Stamp Handle Set (Making Memories)
•  Sepia Archival Ink (Ranger Industries)
•  Definition background paper (Die Cuts with a View)
•  Purple Wash background paper (Colorbok)
•  Purple Lilac acrylic paint (Plaid)
•  Metallic Copper and Gold acrylic paint (Delta Ceramcoat)
•  Small artist paintbrush
•  Cream red-flecked cardstock (unknown)
•  Transparency sheets (office supply)
•  Copper tape (Sunday International – TAC)
•  Photo split adhesive (Creative Memories)
•  Adhesive dots (Zots)
•  Library card pocket (office supply)
•  Gold medallion (unknown)
•  Inscriblio engraving tool (EK Success)
•  Blue grosgrain ribbon piece (for this project, piece was cut off my original
ribbon)
•  Stapler with staples

Instructions:

1.    Cut four pieces from transparency sheets;
 cut to size: 3” x 4”, 3” x 4 ½”, 3” x 5” and 3” x 5 ½”, set aside.

2.    Make wallet sized copies of chosen photos onto cream red-flecked cardstock.

3.    Take the cut transparency sheets and apply acrylic paint color (as shown) along the sides on the transparency backside. Use photos as a guide for paint placement. Let paint dry.

4.    Cut four pieces of the background papers, 2 of the definition, 2 of purple background; cut to size: 3” x 1 Ό”. Fold these pieces in half.

5.    Take the folded pieces and attach them with staples (one on each side) to the top edge of each transparency sheet.

6.    Apply copper tape to the bottom, left and right edges of the transparencies (stop at the stapled decorative paper area).

7.    Adhere pictures to each transparency front with photo splits.  The acrylic paint color applied earlier will show through.

8.    Stamp six words onto cream red-flecked cardstock and tear a border around each word, ink the edges.

9.    Adhere onto the transparency as shown.

10.           For the pocket, take library pocket and embellish with scraps of background and purple papers. Create the tag with a cut piece of transparency; cut to size: 1 Ό” x 1 Ό:” and apply copper tap along the border.  Add on stamped words (created on cream red-flecked cardstock and inked with Sepia ink).

11.           Use engraving tool to place date/year, tie-on a piece of blue grosgrain ribbon through the hole and attach medallion with an adhesive dot onto the center of the cut transparency.

**Note on engraving tool: grip tool like a pencil and use in a handwriting motion.
