Shaving Cream Technique:

To create your shaving cream page, do the following:

1.                In a large pan (I used my oven broiler pan, for easy clean up!) spray enough shaving cream to coat the bottom of the pan.

2.                Squeeze several drops of Gold and Silver Metallic Acrylic paint all over. Swirl paint through the shaving cream using the wooden end of a paintbrush.

3.                Lay your sheet of cardstock in the mixture and press down just a little to make sure all the cardstock on the front side is covered. Do not completely submerge.

4.                Pull the cardstock out and scrape all the shaving cream off using a spatula. (I just used on from the kitchen)

5.                Set aside and allow to dry.

Viola! You have created a beautiful shaving cream background page.

CAUTION!!!! This is very addictive. You will find yourself out buying hundreds of acrylic paint colors!

Layout Instructions:

1.                Scan and print picture on white cardstock (approx. 5”X7”); cut out and sponge edges with black ink.

2.                Cut gray cardstock 8-½” X 9”. Sponge edges with black ink.

3.                Print titles and year on white cardstock. Cut out titles and mat on shaving cream background leaving about ¼” border. Mat again on gray cardstock leaving about ¼” border.

4.                Stamp daisy stamp on black 12”X12” background (one in the upper left hand corner and two across the bottom) using the Versamark pad; heat emboss with silver detail embossing powder.

5.                Cut two 2-1/2” squares from the shaving cream paper. Emboss the daisy stamp in silver on one square.

6.                Cut two 2-1/2” squares from the black card stock. Stamp daisy image using the Versamark pad; emboss one square in silver and the other in gold.

7.                Cut a 2”x4” strip from the shaving cream background. Punch the very end twice with the slot hole punch and feed organdy ribbon through to make a bow. Attach the printed date matted on gray card stock. Sponge around edges with black ink.

8.                Attach brads and gold squares where shown.

9.                Attach picture on the bottom left hand corner of the gray mat using hermafix tabs. Attach a strip of silver organdy ribbon on the right side of the gray mat using tacky glue.

10.           Attach title across the top with hermafix tabs. Then, attach squares as shown in photo. Cut 3 black strips approx ¼” X 2- ½” and attach beside each square.

11.           Next, attach a strip of silver organdy ribbon on the left side of the background about half way down and attach the date strip and embossed shaving cream square on top of the ribbon.

12.           Last, attach the last title block along the bottom between the two embossed daisies.
