Milk Carton Project

Amy Ford
Magic Stampin’ Bus
Newbies Stamping Team Designer

I learned how to make this fun, multi purpose card in my very early stamping days!  The best thing about this project is that it's a gift in itself.  There's no envelope for it, and, you'd have to send instructions for assembly to swap it.  When you give this item in person, fill it with ground coffee beans, tea bags, candies, or soaps!  The recipient will be thrilled to have such a wonderfully smelling surprise from a great friend!

Supplies:

• Daisy Delight stamp set (TAC)
• Seaweed dye inkpad (TAC)
• Metallic Blue Cardstock (source unknown)
        cut to 4 1/4" x 2 3/4"
• Sage green Cardstock (Bazzill Green Monochromatics card pack)
        cut to 3 3/4" x 2 1/2"
• White Cardstock
        1 full sheet, scored at 2 1/4", 4 1/2", 6 3/4", and 9"
        scrap cut 3 1/2" x 2 1/4"
• Deep blue marker (Tombow, #526)
• Olive pastel chalk pad (Colorbox from Clearsnap)
• Ivory ribbon (stamping on this ribbon adds a gorgeous touch!)
• Fiskars 1/8" circle punch
• 1/8" Bronze eyelet & eyelet setter tool
• Isaiah 40:31 bookmark stamp (Biblical Impressions)
• Personal stamping kit to include: favorite adhesive, craft scissors, & 12" personal trimmer

Instructions:

1.                Using your Fiskars 12" Personal Trimmer with scoring blade, turn your paper horizontally and score at 2 1/4", 4 /12", 6 3/4", and 9".  Turn paper vertically and score at 2" and 10".  Cut up to the 10" score line from bottom of paper, on all panels.  This will make the bottom panels of your milk carton.

2.                Ink Isaiah 40:31 stamp using Seaweed ink.  Using deep blue marker, make streaks of color over Seaweed ink.  Stamp image on the 2nd & 4th panels from the left.  Using Seaweed ink, stamp daisy randomly over 1st, 3rd, & 5th panels.  Do not stamp centers of these daisies.

3.                On the 1st, 3rd, & 5th panel, stamp daisy using Seaweed ink. Stamp centers of these daisies with deep blue marker.  Stamp leaves in Olive Pastel chalk ink.

4.                Repeat daisy stamping on the panels resulting from your 2" and 10" vertically scoring.

5.                Apply Mono Adhesive to underside of left edge of card stock.  Begin folding panels into rectangular cube.  You will want to put Mono Adhesive on the undersides of the panels resulting from the 10" score line.  These will form the bottom of your milk carton. If they are not stable and secure, your contents will fall out.

6.                Stamp Isaiah quote on white card stock cut to 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" in Olive Green chalk ink. Layer onto green cardstock, then layer onto metallic blue card stock.

7.                Punch hole using 1/8" hole punch just to the left of the 2nd line of the verse. Set eyelet in hole.

8.                Feed ribbon through hole.

9.                If you want to fill carton, do so now.  Then, pinch top corners of milk corner tightly together, punch 2 holes spaced evenly from left and right sides. Feed ribbon through these holes as well.

10.           Tie nicely in bow or square knot, and present to friend or family member!

2.                Stamp "faith," "hope," and "love" in Orchid Pink from top to bottom of 1st, 3rd, & 5th panels.  Stamp "inspirations" in Olive Green chalk ink vertically on 2nd & 4th panels.

3.                Stamp 1/2 butterfly over the stamped "inspirations" in India Black ink.  Then color with Orchid Pink ink using your Aqua Flow Brushes.

4.                Stamp branch in Olive Green chalk ink over the "faith" and under the "love" on remaining panels.

5.                Stamp flower in Orchid Pink on top left and bottom right corner on each panel of card on top and bottom of card.

6.                Fold 6" x 2" white CARDSTOCK to 3" x 2".  Stamp "Psalm 68:19" in Orchid Pink.  Overstamp the verse with Olive Green. Overstamp full butterfly over both.

7.                Stamp verse again on inside of card using Olive Green.

8.                Layer onto sweetheart pink cardstock, then layer onto sage green cardstock.

9.                Repeat steps 7 -10 above.
