Crystal Lacquer Thrills & Frills By
Betti Geis There are endless techniques you can do with crystal glaze. It will give you a glossy stain glass look to your projects. Try adding a little reinker and painting with them. For added color, you can punch out patterns from decorative paper and cover them with Crystal lacquer let dry then run thru the Xyron to make a 3-D sticker. This will work for stamped alphabets as well as just about anything you can think of. This is one of the most fun and versatile products. If you haven’t tried this product, it is a must-have item for every stamper and scramper! Supplies:
Instructions: 1. Cut Craft Card stock 8 ½”x 5 ¼’ fold in half. 2. Cut Cocoa card stock to 2” x 4 ¼ “ tear top and bottom edges toward you then ink up the edges with the Brilliance Cosmic Copper ink. Stamp Randomly with Cosmic copper words from the “With Your Spirit” stamp set. Set aside to dry. 3. Cut Bright melon card stock to 5 ¾” x 4 ¾ “set aside for later. 4. Arrange Stamps from “Dance with your spirit “on large acrylic block to make a back ground. Ink up well with “Coffee Bean” Brilliance ink then stamp on the craft card stock. Let dry. 5. On an extra piece of Craft Card stock stamp the Butterfly from the Asian Butterfly stamp set with Versamark and emboss with gold embossing powder. Cut out from card stock close to image. 6. Paint the Butterfly with the Pearl-Ex watercolor palette with the colors of your choice; I used Quasar Blue and Mars Red. Let dry thoroughly. 7. Apply Crystal lacquer evenly over the entire surface of both butterflies. Let dry thoroughly for 3-4 hrs. Then bend the wings of the butterflies up to give you a 3-D look. 8. Black Grosgrain ribbon to 11” tape around the inside of the craft folded card tape in place with Mono adhesive. 9. Attach the cocoa strips to the front of the craft card stock with mono adhesive. One towards the top and the other towards the bottom leaving about ¾” of the craft card stock showing. 10. Attach the craft card stock to the bright Mellon Card stock. Then attach butterflies on top of the card.
