By Jackie Bache, #183
Crafty Cruisers
Intermediate Stamping Team Designer

Torso and dress form figurines or shapes come in a variety of materials such as ceramics or paper mache.  Currently, these forms make a hot decorator statement.  This project is jazzed up even further with a sprinkling of glitters to give the surface an appealing sparkle that’s sure to get raves!  Nothing sparkles like Art Institute Glitters!

Supplies:

• Jet Black StāzOn Ink Refill (Tsukineko)
• Background Swirl Stamp (The Artful Lexicon - Iconography)
• Art Institute Glitter - Old Gold (TAC)
• Art Institute Glitter - Christmas Red (TAC)
• Art Institute Glitter - Inca Gold (TAC)

• Art Institute Glitter - Hot Lava (TAC)
• AIG Dries Clear Adhesive (TAC)
• AIG Metal Detailing Tip (TAC)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the ceramic piece.

  1. Squirt some Pumpkin ink from the refill bottle into a paint receptacle.

  1. Use a paintbrush to paint the front and sides of the ceramic piece with Pumpkin StazOn ink.

  1. Stamp the Background Swirl on the ceramic piece with Jet Black StazOn Ink.

  1. Using the Metal Detailing Tip, apply Dries Clear Adhesive to the stamped swirls.

  1. Flood the adhesive with black glitter and tap off the excess.

  1. Allow the glitter to cure for at least an hour.

  1. Working in small sections, apply Dries Clear Adhesive within the black outlines and flood the adhesive with the various colors of glitter.

  1. When the glittered areas are completely dry, coat the piece with a generous layer of Golden’s Soft Gel Gloss to seal the glitter and add shine to the project.

  1. Tie fibers through the holes in the ceramic piece.
