Instructions
- Create front & back
of picture frame: Cut 2 mat boards to 5x5. Cut two 6x6 pieces of the
green grass paper from the Great Outdoor Paper Packet. Cut one 3 ½ x 6
piece of the brown fishing lure paper from same packet, then tear along one of
the 6 edges. Using cocoa ink, lightly sponge the front of green grass paper;
then randomly stamp the fishing lure image. Using Mono-Adhesive, glue the
brown piece of paper to the bottom of one piece of green piece. Using the
green & brown piece center matboard on wrong side of paper, fold paper in each
corner over back of matboard. Use bone folder to crease corners. Glue with
PPA. Fold all four sides of paper over back of matboard and glue with PPA.
Using the remaining piece of green paper, follow same steps to create back of
frame.
- Computer Fonts:
Using a word processing program & the font CampGranadaNF, create the word DAD,
then reverse it horizontally and print on Grey Wool cardstock. Next, create
the saying using the Adler font and print on Colonial White cardstock. Be
sure to leave enough room in the appropriate spots for the words in the
different font. Cut printed saying piece to 3 Ύ x 4 and distress edges.
Then create the words FRONT, BEHIND and BESIDE using the Viner Hand ITC font
and print on Colonial White cardstock. Hand cut the words, distress edges and
adhere to appropriate place in saying.
- Paper Sizes &
Stamping: Prepare the following:
- Cut three ½ x 6
strips of Cocoa cardstock.
- Cut two 5 7/8 x 5
7/8 pieces of Cocoa cardstock, stamp one piece with fish stamp using Cocoa
ink.
- Cut a 3/8 x 12
piece of grey wool cardstock, sponge one side with Brown Bag ink and a hint
of Ocean ink.
- Cut two 1 x 1
piece of grey wool cardstock, sponge one side with Brown Bag ink and a hint
of Ocean ink, cut each piece in half diagonally to have four triangles.
- On the back side of
the Grey Wool cardstock where you have the word DAD printed, sponge with
Brown Bag ink and a hint of Ocean ink; cut out the letters with scissors and
craft knife.
- Cut 1 ½ x 2 piece
of Colonial White cardstock; stamp creel basket using Cocoa stamp pad;
distress edges.
- Cut 3 ½ x 4 ½
piece of Colonial White cardstock, distress edges with Cocoa stamp pad.
- Cut 3 x 4 piece
of green grass paper.
- Stamp 4 fish on
Colonial White cardstock using Cocoa stamp pad; cut each fish out. Distress
edges on backside of 2 fish then stamp the month of photo on one and the
year of photo on the other.
- Faux Rusty Metal
Pieces: On the sponged sides of all the Grey Wool pieces, cover completely
with Versamark ink, cover with UTEE and tap off excess, heat with heat tool to
melt UTEE. You will only do one layer of UTEE because you want this to be
rough looking. After heating, if too smooth, rough up with an embossing
stylus. Next, sponge black ink over entire surface of all pieces, pressing
hard to get ink into the tiny crevices. Wipe excess ink off each piece with
tissue.
- Assembly:
- Hinges: Fold the
3-½x6 strips of Cocoa cardstock in half. Lay your front and back covers
side by side with the wrong side facing up. Using PPA, glue the strips of
Cocoa to the front and back covers with the fold of the hinges placed
between the front & back cover.
- Front: Prepare the
Faux Rusty Metal bar piece by cutting the prepared 3/8x12 Faux Rusty Metal
Piece to 4 ½, save remainder. Remove the hook portion of 3 fishing
swivels. Use these pieces with 6 bronze brads to attach the prepared word
DAD to the bar piece. Lay the Bar piece with the letters attached on the
front cover about ½ from the top edge. Use the paper-piercing tool to push
a hole through both the Faux Rusty Metal bar and the matboard at each end of
the Faux Rusty Metal bar. Use bronze brads in the holes to attach the bar
piece to the front cover. Next, push hook of fishing lure through top left
corner of the piece stamped with the creel basket. Adhere this to front
cover in the lower right corner.
- Inside Left Side:
Adhere the fish stamped piece of cocoa cardstock (size 5 7/8 x 5 7/8) to
inside of front cover. Cut 3 small pieces from the leftover strip that you
created for the metal bar and adhere to bottom left of saying piece. Punch
hole through both pieces with piercing tool; insert a bronze brad into each
hole. Attach saying piece to cocoa cardstock.
- Inside Right Side:
Center photo and adhere to grass green cardstock. Place triangle Faux Rusty
Metal pieces in corners, pierce hole in center and place bronze brads.
Mount this piece to 3 ½ x 4 ½ distressed colonial white cardstock. Mount
to left side of 5 7/8 x 5 7/8 piece of cocoa cardstock. Cut 4 strip from
leftover Faux Rusty Metal bar piece and adhere to right side of photo. Use
paper piercer to pierce a tiny hole near each fishs mouth. Attach two fish
each to two fishing lures. Use paper piercer to punch holes in bar and
through cocoa cardstock. Use bronze brads to attach the fishing lures with
fish to bar piece. Mount completed piece on inside back cover.
