Instructions

1.                Using acrylic paint and sponge, paint colors randomly all over the pot.  Be certain to cover the entire outside of the pot and an inch or two on the inside (the rim and the inside color can be one color).  Allow to dry thoroughly.

2.                Stamp the flowers from the Botanical Mini's set randomly all around the outside of the pot and rim using Lightning Black Brilliance Ink.  You can put the unmounted stamp on an acrylic block.  However,  I choose not to when stamping on a clay pot so that I have more control over the stamp when going over curved areas.

3.                Spritz the Twinkling H2O's with water to get the paint primed to use.  Using a thin paintbrush, paint color on all the flowers, stems and leaves.  Allow to dry.

4.                The Mosaic Tile stamp came on a wood mount.  When I went to unmount it, all I had to do was peel away the rubber from the foam.  It came off very easily.  You need to unmount the backgound stamp so that you can place it around the pot with control.  Ink up the rubber with Versamark and stamp around the bottom of the pot.  You may have to stamp the background 2 or more times depending on the size of the pot chosen.  Don't worry about lining up the pattern, just leave a little space between the images and they can be filled in later.

5.                Next, pour the cement embossing powder over the Versamark and heat with heat tool until melted.  Repeat the stamping and embossing around the outside rim of the pot.  When the pot has cooled down, use the Versamark Pen to join any lines to connect the separate images from the background stamp and to fill in any lines that may not have gotten thoroughly inked and embossed.  Also, use the Versamark Pen around the very top of the rim and the underside of the rim.  Pour embossing powder over all of these newly inked areas and heat until melted.

6.                When the pot has cooled down again, finish by spraying with 3-4 coats of spray finish over the entire piece.5

 Alternate technique:

1.                Stamp the Mosaic background with Versamark as instructed above and heat emboss with the cement embossing powder.

2.                When the pot is cool, begin applying the Gallery Glass Window Colors in between all the embossed lines.  (Note:  colors will have varying shades of terra cotta because of the paint's translucency when dry.  If you would like the real colors of the paint to be seen, you may want to coat the pot with a white acrylic paint before stamping.
