Masking Tape Background

Rita Holmes
Magic Stampin’ Bus
Beginner Stamping Designer

Supplies:

  • Soaring to New Heights Stamp Set (TAC, The Angel Company)
  • Ink Pads:  Palette colors:  Noir Black, Viridian Leaf, Raw Sienna, Lavender Sachet, Violete, Belle Rose Palette Ink Pads (Stewart Superior, TAC)
  • Acrylic Blocks (TAC)
  • Fabri-Tac Glue (Beacon, Wal-Mart)
  • Cardstock:
  • White 5”x3 ¾”
  • Black 5 ¼”x4”
  • Yellow Gold 5 ½”x8 ½”) folded in half for card
  • Masking Tape (Wal-Mart)
  • Heat Gun (Milwaukee, TAC)
  • Scotch Double Stick Tape (3M)

Instructions:

1. Tear masking tape into small pieces and add to the piece of white cardstock in a random order.  Try not to do a pattern as the more tape you place randomly, the better it will look.  You will want to wrap the ends of the masking tape around to the back covering the edges of the cardstock.

2. Using the Palette Ink pads (except for the black), do a direct to paper method randomly adding the color to the masking tape.  I start with the lightest colors first.  After covering your masking tape with the ink; dry with heat gun.  You will be able to tell when the ink is dry; as it will lose its luster.

3. With the Soaring to New Heights stamp set, stamp images onto the masking tape background using your own imagination.  Again, speed dry with a heat gun until the luster is gone.

4. Using the Scotch Double Stick Tape, adhere black cardstock to the folded card.  Adhere the stamped masking tape background to the black mat.

ENJOY!!
