Eucalyptus Walnut Ink Background
By
Missy Cahoon Supplies
Instructions: 01. Run 12X12 vanilla cardstock under water. Get it pretty wet, but do not completely saturate. Crumple the cardstock into a ball and flatten back out to dry. Be careful when opening because the card stock will tear very easily. Spray with Eucalyptus Walnut ink. (*Note: I put my cardstock in the kitchen sink so that the spray wouldn’t get everywhere.) Dab with a paper towel to remove the excess ink. Tear rough edge around all 4 sides. Lay flat to dry. 02. Repeat step #1 with a 4X6 piece of creamy caramel cardstock using the Terra Cotta Walnut spray for the sign and cobblestones. Set aside to dry. 03. Mat 5X7 picture with black card stock leaving a ¼” border. Then mat only the top half of the picture again with plum card stock leaving ¼” border. 04. Using the handheld engraver, write the names on the dominos. Rub the walnut metallic rub-ons over the engraved area and wipe off. The walnut color will stay inside the engraved area. Around the outside edge of the dominos rub with coffee bean brilliance ink. Spray with hairspray to seal the ink. Set aside to dry. 05. Cut the netting to go across the top of the picture leaving about 2” overhang. Glue down. When dry, glue beads and the dominos on top of the netting. Set aside to dry. 06. Stamp 2 sand dollars from the Nature’s Wonders stamp set on a piece of Creamy Caramel cardstock with the Coffee Bean Brilliance ink pad. With the Aqua Flow Water Pen (filled with bleach), color in the center of the sand dollar. Cut one sand dollar out and cut the other into a square. 07. Stamp the seagulls from the TAC lighthouse stamp set with Black Beauty ink onto Creamy Caramel cardstock. Color the center of the birds with the Aqua Flow Water Pen (filled with bleach). Cut the seagulls out except for one. Cut remaining seagull into a square to fit inside the slide mount. Attach to the slide mount with glue and attach one of the cut out seagulls on the edge of the slide mount using a pop-up dot. 08. After your 12X12 vanilla cardstock is dry, attach to 12X12 black card stock using glue. 09. Once the Creamy Caramel cardstock that was sprayed with Terra Cotta Walnut spray is dry, tear a rectangle for your sign and and a long skinny strip for the post of the sign. Using the stones template, draw and cut out the stones with the remaining cardstock. (*Note: I used 10 stones in various sizes to give depth.) 10. Stamp your title on the sign with alphabet stamps using Black Beauty Ink. Then stamp the boat in the bottom left hand corner using Coffee Bean Brilliance ink. Color in the boat and seagull with the Aqua Flow Water Pen (filled with bleach). 11. Cut netting into triangles to glue on the corner of the 5X7 picture and the corner of the page. I cut a longer strip for the upper right hand corner of the page. And VIOLA! You are ready to attach all of your wonderfully created pieces to the page. I used glue on everything because of the dimensions of the paper. When you wrinkle it up it doesn’t tack well with other adhesives.
